Does This Song Apply to Class?
Green Day has been all over the television this weekend giving interviews, concerts and promoting their newest album (or do just say CD now?). We’ve talked in here about how differently artistic messages can be interpreted. (Btw–the Pearl Jam song I couldn’t think of is “Alive.”) During one the interviews I saw (CBS Sunday Morning, I think) Billy Armstrong revealed that “Wake Me Up When September Ends” is really about the death of his father in the early 80s–not September 11th as everyone else takes it to mean. So how about this one? What is it really about? What message is in it for you?
