Another Case Against Cell Phones

I have noticed several students sneaking a little cell phone use during class. While there may at some point be an appropriate use for cell phone use during class–ask my Culture and Conflict students about our polls–in general texting in class cannot be tolerated. We have already discussed several reasons…here are a few more.

I enjoyed this video , it showed how effective cell phones really are to the world around us. I did not know that multi-tasking with emailing, texting and calling can lower your IQ 10 points and that smoking a joint only lowers it by 4 points. This clearly states that using a cellular device is almost as worse as smoking a joint or ciggarette. I found this video very interesting, thank you for sharing it . :)

oh my .. I didn’t copy it again .. here we go ..

Well this video opened my eyes. I would have never thought that multitasking would lower one’s IQ level, I would have thought it would increase it. Lowering 10 points while smoking a joint only lowers its 4 ! That’s unbelievable ! Also, I know many people owned cellular devices but I would have never thought that the number of people would take up all those continents! This video made me realize that I need to focus on one thing at a time !

    …*gasp*…
My IQ must be down the tubes. Multi-tasking drops your IQ more than smoking a joint?! Since when?! That little tidbit of information was quite shocking. However, the whole part about how nowadays people text more than talk. I would not be able to live without texting, but i hate talking on the phone. I usually don’t even aswer it when it rings, but i always respond to my texts :) Great video. Thanks for sharing.
P.S. Why don’t people recycle their old cell phones already?! They’re only taking up space. Oh, wait… i haven’t recycled my old one either…
