By the time you get to my blog over vacation you’ve probably already seen or heard about Susan Boyle and her performance on the British equivalent of American Idol. Still….it’s just soooo good so I had to post. Plus, she sang a Les Miserables song….if you see the You Tube version (which has disabled embedding) you can view the lyrics. In the musical, Fantine sings this song at the beginning of play after her secret –that she has a daughter when she is not married — is discovered and she is fired from her factory job. But really these lyrics can apply to anyone older who expected something different from life and no doubt Susan Boyle herself. You won’t be in tears the way people my age are….but I think you will appreciate her passion and her talents–and never giving up on your dreams.

I was watching TV and some commercial came up about her and I decided to watch it. I was so happy for her, because so many people thought she was just another awful singer who wanted to make it big (including me). The best part of the clip was when Simon was totally shocked. Hopefully that will teach him, along with the rest of the world not to judge a book by its cover.

when i first started watching this video, i’ll admit i thought this lady was a joke. but like many others, i was very surprised at her ability to sing such high notes like that. i agree with shawna to never judge a book by its cover.

It’s amazing how one person can change their life by going on a TV show like Britain’s Got Talent. I agree with the other commenters that this goes to prove that you shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover. Susan Boyle delivered a great performance of such a classic song from Les Miserables.

This is a great example of not judging a book by its cover because when she got on stage evryone thought it was going to be a joke, but when she started singing everyone was so shocked at how good she was. This just shows that before you judge anything you should see what it has to offer first because if you don’t you just might make a fool of yourself

wow that blew me away. i guess i made the mistake by judging the book by its cover. The only reason i judged her though, was because what she was telling the host about her cat and everything. Ill be more careful next time not to judge before giving it a chance.

I found it funny how she was so quiclkly judged but sung her heart out and blew everyone away. I tried not to judge her but most people on youtube normally are horrible at singing and peoiple send it around as “check out this person”. I got it through a chain mail , but thought it weas awsome that she was proving everyone wrong and living out her dream:)

like everyone else, i didn’t think that she would be that good. i was expecting something like william hung from one of the early american idols.
