This part of Obama’s plan is being met with a lot of criticism lately. Wondering why? The Council on Foreign Relation’s website has an interview with several leading economists who give their opinions for and against “cap and trade.” I also added this site to my blogroll. Their website is (in their own words) “an online resource for everyone in these turbulent times who wants to learn more about the complex international issues challenging policymakers and citizens alike. “

Okay I didn’t get halfway through the article because I think that these people are so stupid! Of course climate change is a priority! Who cares if the ice is going to take a longer time to melt than we first expected. The point is climate change isn’t always going to be preventable. That’s why people (all around the world) need to somehow stop it while we can. Okay, I know this process may be expensive, and right now the economy isn’t that great, but the truth is the world itself is more important than a financial crisis. America alone has been through many depressions but has always in the end prevailed. I don’t think that that will be our outcome if we gamble with the Earth.
