Kevin White sent me the link to this video. It is from a 1995 performance by U2 and Luciano Pavarotti, the Italian opera singer who died this past September. Back in 1995 Sarajevo was still under seige in the 3-way tug of war that was ultimately reconciled by the Dayton Accords which forced power sharing among the rival factions. The current situation in Iraq is in some ways comparable to the war in Bosnia. Follow this link for more information about the song and it’s meaning. And follow this link for more information about the city of Sarajevo.

Its not one of u2’s best songs but it is cool how the stage is set up. Since Kevin loves Bono soo much I think he should try to rock a scallycap like Bono does.

Shut up Riley, I do not love Bono by any means, but I must say I would look good in a scallycap.

I thought this was a pretty cool video, but I’m sure Kevin liked it a lot more than I did. The only thing I though was weird was that it doesn’t really seem like Bono would duet with an opera singer, it just doesn’t seem like his style

You are going to be even more surprised on Monday when you get a reading about Tony Blair and Bono….today Bono is mixing it up with all kinds of people you would never expect, perhaps the work he did back in the 90s put him on this path.
