Her Story

Very happy for Jon Lester…although I had intended to correct essays while watching the Red Sox, but couldn’t concentrate when Lester was pitching.  It’s nice that he will be known for something other than “the guy who had cancer.”  I also haven’t been paying attention to the Red Sox yet this season….when they started I was still watching the Bruins and now the Celtics.  Finally figured out why Patrick wears one sleeve up and one sleeve down at his games :)

I can’t believe Lester threw the No-No, it has to be the feel good story of the major league baseball season. It seems every no-hitter has to have one very good defensive play and Jacoby Ellsbury supplied that. When Clay Buchholz threw his no-hitter it was Dustin Pedroia that saved the no-hit bid on a ground ball up the middle. The anchor of the Red Sox and their captain, Jason Varitek also set a major league record for most no-hitters caught by a single catcher. Varitek has caught 4 no-hitters (Hideo Nomo vs. Baltimore, Derek Lowe vs. Tampa Bay, Clay Buchholz vs. Baltimore, and Jon Lester vs. Kansas City) what an accomplishment!

On sportscenter the other day there was an interview with Lester. He said that his dad told him everyone is looking up at you now and I am even looking up to you. That would be weird if your father told u he looked up to you.

If anyone deserved a no-hitter it was Lester, with his cancer and everything it was just so nice to see him get this. We’re all very happy for him!

I agree with Chris, baseball is a lot more popular than hockey. I also think that everyone is making too big a deal about Lester’s no-hitter.

it is soo great that Lester is still living his life as he should be. Althought his cancer is gone it is great is out on the feild throwing a no hitter. GO SOX!
