Appeasement

One of our key terms has been in the news over the past few days.  It all started Thursday when President Bush spoke before the Israeli Parliament, known as the Knesset, on the 60th anniversary of the founding of Israel.  Here is what the President said:

Most people who heard the speech believed that Bush was addressing these comments toward Barack Obama.  In campaign speeches Obama has advocated greater diplomacy with countries like Iran and Syria. But, before you call someone an appeaser you should probably know what appeasement is. It’s a pretty common tactic in politics to call someone “another Hitler” or make Nazi references…it happens all of the time. However, rarely is the person using the Hitler analogy asked to explain their thesis. That is what happened last Thursday night on Hardball, when a radio talk show host made it known he wasn’t paying attention in 9th grade world history:

How would you have explained appeasement if you were in Kevin James’ seat?

Bush totally contradicted himself and these other two guys arguing over more air time and getting in the last word make themselves look like total bafoons!

I think that Kevin James should have known what Chamberlain did instead just calling it appeasement.

I also think that this conversation never got to be about appeasement because all that the other guy wanted Kevin James to do is answer his one question about what Chamberlain did wrong.

I hope that Mccain wins cause Hilary and Obama have no clue what they are doing

I don’t really care all that much about who wins the election, but I guess if I were to choose, I would pick Mccain.
