I dont think its a crisis because all the town officials working in the teachers department needs to do is give the teachers of weymouth a contract that is fair and reasonable. Giving them no contract just creates a conflict that the town was supposedly trying to avoid.

I can’t say that I especialy agree with the commenters. We’re just going to have to stay in school longer if it doesn’t reopen.

As awesome as it would be if they couldn’t open school, I think that the teachers definately deserve a raise. I hope they get it.

Plus, we’d just have to add another year on, or go someplace else. And I kinda like Weymouth. Cuz everywhere else is lame.

I just think that we should just pay the teachers and end this.

yeah this is getting out of hand.
i think that if people are saying that next year will be in jeopardy then we should either pay them and get back to it, or let some of them go. we would miss them all O: but its just something that has to be done. sorry (:

I think that they should just give the teachers a contract so that school can open on time next year instead of opening later and cutting into next summer.

This is ridiculous. I think the teachers should have a contract. I don’t want to go into school later and have it cut into next summer. We should just pay the teacher and get this contract stuff done.

Yeah, I agree with Kelsey. They should just pay the teachers and get it over with. I don’t want to have to waste my summer time because of teacher comments.

    ya this needs to end

i think there should be a fight
    buell vs. weymouth public schools
    ill start selling the tickets
    then we’ll get our money
    woooo

I believe that the pay is sufficient because the outcome does not equal the input. If the teachers union wants more pay they should demand more from students and raise the overall grade average of the town and hell we should raise the standards for the whole country. And this local union does deserve more but it is Madden’s fault for wasting all that money on legion field. It went from ok we can’t play when it rains to completely unuseable. Blame him

I have heard that Weymouth has some of the highest paid in the state. If that is true, then that extra money should go to a better cause like diabetes or the Wildcat Dungeon.

i think that the town officials or whoever decides the “contract” they’re just being stubburn and basically stupid.
My moms part of a union at the verizon building and they have a five year contract that just recently had come to an end and they had a meeting and threw out the contract they wanted and they came up with an agreement that was sufficiant. There is no reason that the Weymouth Public Schools can’t do the same. The officials are just making their lives more stressed because they don’t know if the teachers are going to strike or not.

Which personally i think is a bad idea [striking] because that means we would have to be at school at a different time like maybe earlier next year or later this year.

I think that it will be absolutly horrid if they didn’t open schools in September. It would just mean that we would have to go to school in the summer later.

If we have to go to school next summer i’m going to skip or start a riot, maybe both. We can have a coup.

I defininately agree with Chris, but I don’t know how well that fight would go. I think that the town isn’t using money wisely, and that’s what this whole problem is really about.
