Social Networks vs Blogs
At this point, after visiting and commenting here it should be more obvious to you what the difference is between blogging and social networking on the internet. However, for those skeptics still among us here is a post from Support Blogging that explains the difference quite well. Questions? Comments? Observations?

buell
all these stories are soo intresting!
i am also commenting on the comment danielle commented. i also read that book a few years ago on the Holocaust. it helped me learn so much about what life was like back then and how cruel people were.
It would be creepy if you loged on to Myspace or Facebook and your teacher poped up and wanted to be your friend.
I don’t like social networking sites such as Facebook and Myspace because most people get addicted to them and are always on them. If they really want to talk to their friends that much why don’t they just get their number and call them? That way they don’t have to wait hours or days for a one sentence reply and won’t waste as much of their life.
I think social networking sites are ok but they should be used in moderation.
I think it doesn’t matter really, but it would be so weird to see a teacher have a Myspace or Facebook. It’s for highschool + college kids and I don’t see the point in an older person having one, unless you needed one for a job. But I don’t think it’s necessary for a teacher to have one.
your stories are awesome like the one when u were with the crack kid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I disagree with Dylan. Sorry Buell.
I have better stories Buell sorry.
the Bruahaus story is utterly hilarious.
No need to apologize…I am certainly not conceited enough to think that every story would amuse each and every one of you.
Andrew you can’t “hit-and-run” like that….please share your story.
Going forward with this project—-not this year, don’t worry—but next year I am toying with the idea of having each student start their own blog. Then I could put the class blogroll here. There is also a way to link comments from multilple blogs. Thoughts, comments?
BTW, if anyone would like to start their own blog here—-to post about serious (or at least semi-serious) educational topics I would love to help you….let me know.
Kids shouldn’t have to make their owns blogs, it’ll just give them unnecesary work.
I wouldn’t mind starting my own blog
and why can’t I use hit and run tactics
isn’t that one of our key words-guerilla warfare
Rumor has it I might be teaching history and English next year…if that ends up being the case maybe I will have the English students blog instead of keeping paper journals. Still think it might be too much to ask a history student to keep up with??? Maybe honors only??? I would love to hear more feedback from you all. Maybe over the summer when you are catching your breaths?
Andrew, and anyone else who ends up making their own blog (not MySpace or Facebook) be sure to let me know so I can give you some feedback and comment on your postings.
Oh, and Andrew—you can’t use guerilla tactics when blogging because it upsets other readers and commenters. It’s considered bad blogging etiquette. Plus, I really wanted to hear your story…but that’s ok if you want to save it for your blog
not so to speak as I want to save it
its just that its not that appropriate
so to speak
Gotcha…thanks, you know how I hate “not that appropriate.”
